Our Story
Thoughtfully made beeswax candles for quieter moments, with honest materials, clear details, and a calm, timeless point of view.
A Search for More Honest Candlelight
Closterra began with a search for beeswax candles that felt as honest as they looked. We wanted real beeswax, no added fragrance, a calm design, and practical details that made it easy to choose the right candle.
Too often, the alternatives leaned toward synthetic wax blends, heavy perfume, or designs shaped by passing trends. In 2025, that search became Closterra, a family-owned, US-based brand with a quieter and more considered approach to candlelight.
We created Closterra for people who want a candle to feel simple, warm, and trustworthy in their home. Our purpose is to offer beautiful candlelight made with care, described with honesty, and easy to choose with confidence.
What Matters to Us
For us, a good candle is not about fragrance notes or unnecessary decoration. It is about the material, the shape, the quality of the flame, and how naturally the candle belongs in your home.
We care about:
- Honest materials: A 100% beeswax base with cotton wicks, no paraffin, soy wax, filler waxes, or added fragrance. Any faint honey aroma comes naturally from the beeswax.
- Transparent color: Natural yellow tapers are undyed. White, black, red, green, blue, and purple tapers are colored throughout with certified German candle dyes made specifically for candle production.
- Quiet design: Simple, slender forms with a calm and timeless appearance.
- Useful details: Clear dimensions, approximate burn times, and holder guidance that help you choose with confidence.
- Care at every stage: Spanish beeswax, family-owned production in Lithuania, and hand packing in the United States.
